Michelle Sylvester, LCSW

Founder and CEO

About Me:

Because it is vital for you to find the right fit, I believe you need to know a bit about your therapist before you get started. I am a mother, wife, advocate, and adventurer. My professional background is diverse and expansive. I was a military spouse for six years, which gave me the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across the United States in different areas of the social work field. Before starting Breaking Point Therapy, my experience ranged from working at a secure center for kids with persistent mental health concerns to being a mobile mental health responder working with those in the community experiencing mental health crises.

I received my masters in social work in 2014 from the University of Southern California and after 6 years working in the mental health field, I was granted my first independent clinical license in 2020. I am currently licensed in the states of Connecticut, Colorado, and New York. Since receiving my LCSW I have worked as a contractor for Betterhelp. As I saw telehealth quickly emerge as a means to meet the need for mental health care with busy professionals, stay at home parents, and geographically isolated people, I decided to open Breaking Point Therapy to provide more intimate and better-tailored telehealth experiences for clients. My experience both professionally and personally has only expanded my passion to enact change and support others. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals.
