BREAKING POINT THERAPY

Your breaking point is our starting point

Therapy

Strength Based Client Focused Care

Therapy has a different meaning for each person: some seek out assistance with a particular mental health diagnosis, others for a particularly challenging life experience, or some for general nonbiased, professional support and insights. Regardless of where you fall on this spectrum, therapy is often a universally intimidating process. It can be particularly challenging because it is so hard to define and you don't know what you are walking into during your first session. At Breaking Point Therapy we strive to make the therapy experience as seamless and comfortable as possible. We work with each client as an individual, tailoring our approach every step of the journey to educate, develop, set goals, and evaluate progress to ensure that therapy is working for you. We firmly believe that everyone can benefit from therapy but also understand that not every therapist will work for each person. Thus we strive to ensure that you and your therapist are compatible. And if we are not the right fit, we will work together with you to find a solution that meets your unique needs.

Our Services

Breaking Point Therapy provides an individualized approach that combines a variety of different therapeutic techniques to best fit each client's unique situation, identity, and needs. We start with the concerns that brought you to therapy and establish the goals you have for therapy. Next you and your therapist build a personalized treatment plan using your unique strengths and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help you achieve your goals. Throughout your therapy experience we will continuously assess your progress towards reaching those goals and make any needed adjustments to ensure you are receiving the support you need.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most prominent evidence based therapeutic approaches. It can sound intimidating but CBT is actually a simple concept despite the complicated name. Simply put the founding idea is that our thoughts impact our actions and if we can change our thoughts we can change our response (behavior) to a situation. CBT builds off of this foundation to help individuals identify maladaptive thoughts, challenge those thoughts, and replace the thoughts with alternative growth based or positive thoughts. This technique is particularly helpful with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, self esteem issues, and depression.

Problem Solving Therapy

Problem solving therapy is a short goal oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on what brought you into therapy and actionable steps to address each issue. If you are goal oriented and feel most accomplished when you take action this could be a great fit.

Mindfulness Therapy

Mindfulness is an approach that uses a variety of techniques to bring awareness to the present moment taking away the power of the what if's or could haves. Mindfulness therapy is a great compliment to a variety of therapeutic approaches because it teaches concrete skills to combat some of the most common symptoms of anxiety and depression.
